This is an official Recorded Texas Historic Landmark as of 2007. It was designed by by famed Houston architect Eugene T. Heiner and completed in 1889. It has had two major alterations by architects J. W. Dahnert (1935) and Wyatt C. Herick (1949) that resulted in new wings, entries, and removal of a few features. The salmon color is a result of local brick being used from clay taken from the near by Colorado River. Now fully restored, it is a wonderful old historic Texas landmark that is still in use today.
